noisemaker proposal

For the noisemaker project, I was thinking of making use of the ultrasonic sensor to have someone's distance from the sensor affect what kind of audio is being played. Because of COVID, I sometimes get nervous if people get too close to me in public, so I wanted to try and portray that same kind of anxiety from proximity through audio. My plan was to have some sort of normal ambient noise, like people talking in a cafe, playing from a speaker somehow (might need to get a different speaker part?). Then, as a person moves closer to the sensor, a more unpleasant or distorted noise would play, and would get louder the closer they get. Another thing that inspired this idea was horror game soundtracks and their sound design in general, as I then thought about how sound can affect atmosphere and also reflect changes in one's surroundings.

Moving forward, I need to figure out if it's possible to play and MP3 file and how to do that, as well as figure out how to add some kind of distortion or harsh noise and control its volume.
