FINAL

The main Arduino component to this piece is the photoresistor, which I use as a way to detect contact with the fabric from the shadow of a person's hand. Once it reaches a certain darkness, a flag is switched on and off to signify that it's being touched. This flag is sent to the program in Processing, which will change the image based on whether the mantle is being touched or not. If it's being touched, it will blur the image of the idol until it nearly blurs black, and once it's blurred enough, an unblurred image of the idol will gradually reappear, and this can also be blurred again.

The acrylic box on top covers the fabric and breadboard, and is supposed to be a smaller version of the window area in Manaog, and there's a cut out where you're supposed to place your hand. I used the laser cutter in the EnVision Lab to make the pieces and then glued them together, and there's space for the Arduino to be placed inside, and for a cable to run out.
